Location:
The area of ​​Tacoronte-Acentejo is located in the north of the island and includes the municipalities of Tegueste, Tejina, Valle de Guerra, Tacoronte, El Sauzal, La Matanza, La Victoria, Santa Ursula, La Laguna, El Rosario and Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Vineyards cover the slopes and valleys of the charming landscape, surround the villages and farms and rise from the sea to almost 1000 meters.

With around 2,500 hectares of vineyards, Tacoronte-Acentejo is the largest wine-growing region in the Canary Islands not only in terms of volume but also in terms of concentration.

In 1980, a part of the city was listed as a historical monument. The ordinance lists around 90 buildings in the vicinity of the Church of Santa Catalina and in the vicinity of the former Augustinian monastery. In 2008, the production of turrón from Tacoronte, an almond or nut nougat confectionery (Actividad Turronera de Tacoronte), was provisionally entered in the register of protected cultural assets.
